“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day... unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear”.
Obituary
Betty Marie Spensatelli, fondly known as ‘Bet’, Grandma, and “G-Ma”, born February 4th, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, gained her wings on October 31st, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Betty was loved and cherished by her family and found so much joy in spending time with family and friends. Betty lived life to the fullest. Loved to travel with her husband, go dancing, quilting with girlfriends, being involved with the church, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband for 65 years, John Spensatelli; her step-daughter, Helena Pittard, her husband Billy; Granddaughter, Rachel Jordan, her husband Chris; Grandson Ricky Klingelhofer Jr., Granddaughter, Elizabeth Ingram; Grandson Erick Klingelhofer; Granddaughter Kristina Klingelhofer; Step-Grandson Chris Conley, his wife Caitlin; Step-Grandson Josh Conley, his wife Nicole; and her beloved Great Grandchildren, Kaliya, Kaiden, Sutton, Jackson, Camryn, Beckam, and Levi. Betty is preceded by her son, Frederick (Rick) Klingelhofer; son, John (Chip) Spensatelli Jr., parents and siblings.
Betty grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where she graduated from Patterson High School. After graduation, Betty began working at Western Electric; followed by Hartford Community College. Betty loved Christmas so it was no surprise when she began selling “Christmas Around the World”. Her home has always been beautifully decorated at Christmas time!
While in Baltimore, when Betty was not working, she and John had close friends that they enjoyed traveling with in their motor home. Betty and John moved to Texas in 2005. Betty never met a stranger. She quickly began making friends at not only her Church, but the Elks Lodge, where she was a ‘Doe’; her sorority, Bunko, and with the beloved “Lake Ratz” where Betty was considered one of the honorary “Lake Ratz” Moms!
Betty loved to play games, from Dominos, cards, to a good game of Left-Center-Right, boy was she competitive! Betty always enjoyed a great party! She loved her Son and Daughter-In-Law’s Pre-Holiday Christmas Party, to the gatherings at the Elks Lodge! She also enjoyed gardening, shopping (don’t tell John), crocheting and baking. Our family will always remember the way Betty brought so much love and joy to all around her. From family gatherings, games, traveling, and giving advice to her son!
