In Memory of Superintendent Bernardo Trejo
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our longtime colleague and friend, SES Superintendent Bernardo Trejo. He was a valued member of our team for 25 years and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Bernardo will be remembered for his invaluable contributions to SPAN, as well as his passion, dedication, and expertise that he brought to work each day.
Bernardo made a significant impact on our company, running a crew of 19, which included his son, Bernardo Trejo Jr. Bernardo’s younger son, Cristian Trejo, also worked with us at King Curb, reflecting how deeply intertwined the Trejo family has been within our ESOP. The loss of Bernardo is felt by many, and words cannot express the grief that his loved ones are experiencing during this difficult time.
Bernardo was a longtime resident of Madera, CA, and we will be working closely with his family to provide any support they may need right now. During this period, we encourage everyone to be there for one another and to keep Bernardo and his family in your thoughts.

I have known Bernardo since he started working for us in Madera. Bernardo represented the best of everything at SPAN and I am certain he brought the best of everything to his family and friends as well. We will miss him dearly.

Seeing all the wonderful memories of my dad brings my heart warmth that he was around people who cared for him like family. Family was one of my dad’s biggest importance in life. He always had some wisdom to share or a positive outlook on life just like any great dad would.

First and Foremost my condolences to the Trejo Family for the loss of our Beloved Bernardo Trejo. I Had the privilege and honor to be part of Bernardo’s crew and to complete the last project of The Home Depot in Murrieta CA. Extraordinary leader with passion that he demonstrated for his work craft, but most of all a Great, Humble Human Being!! All the Advice you gave me, That I will cherish for the rest of my life. I first met Bernardo in 2000- I knew him to be a hard worker, kind & considerate always willing to help and always greeted you with a smile and handshake. My husband (Florent Salazar) and I worked with Bernardo for 23 + years at Span Construction and he will live on in our memory as a great friend, co worker.

Trejo Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Bernardo was one of the first Superintendents I met at Span Construction after I hired on with the company in late 2020 in Garland, Texas. Bernardo was always full of compassion and care for the people he was working with regardless of what was going on around him. The compassion he showed in the moment was something he carried with him day after day, and this inspired others from employees all the way to different trade partners that had the pleasure of working with him.

My deepest condolences to the Trejo Family. I meet Bernardo or as close friends would called him compilla back in 2006 while working with Jody every time I had the pleasure of talk to him we would talk about Soccer and are favorite team. We will miss you dearly.

Bernardo was a leader among leaders. His patience and kind heart shined through all his actions. My prayers are with the family as they navigate this world without him and learn to lean on each other a bit more. My thoughts and prayers are with the Trejo family. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Bernardo this past year. His loss has truly broken my heart. He was an outstanding person, and his positive spirit and commitment will be greatly missed. I will always remember the way his face lit up when I asked about his family; it was clear how much he loved and took pride in them.
