Barbara Sihlanick

I hope this grief stays with me because it's all the unexpressed love that I didn't get to tell her.” - Andrew Garfield

Obituary

With a heart so heavy it can hardly be carried, I am saddened to announce the passing of Barbara Sihlanick. After a 13 year battle with cancer, she peacefully reunited with her mother Delores and father Robert on July 27, 2026.

Selflessly, Barbara has donated her body to medical research with the hopes of finding a cure to cancer. Her ashes will find their final resting place with her daughter.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Nicole Baker, her Great Danes Hurk and Zeke, her brothers and sisters Anna Gaskins, Robert Sihlanick, Laura Ryan, Karen Conti, Dana Totaro, Louis Sihlanick, her other half Jim Boyer, and her best friend Tom Haffey.

There are no events planned, so please leave your memories of Barbara and sympathies to the family here. And when you get a chance, crack a cold one in her name.

I miss her so much!! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. It’s been hard not texting or calling. I remember when I got married and she crashed my honeymoon. I loved every second of it. We had such a fun time swimming in the pool, getting drunk and dancing in every room lol. She was the best aunt and best person to talk to when I needed her. We were always there for each other no matter what it was. I am going to miss her everyday but I know she’s with angels and hugging everyone we have missed so much over the years. I love u aunt Barbie.

My deepest condolence to Nicole and the family. She fought a good fight but God wasn’t ready for her till now. I know Bob and Dolores were there to meet her. We all mourn Barbara’s loss.

The loss is so great with this one, without a doubt the craziest, loudest, most fun girl and the most sincere, honest, loving, selfless and absolute true friend anyone could have. You my friend are and will be truly missed - see you on the other side B! XOXO

Barbie was my best friend for years. I will miss her laugh and her antics. She fought hard for a long time and I hope she is now at peace. I will miss you so much. I love you, Barbie girl.

So many wonderful memories of the good times I had with Barb. I’m just glad internet and cell phones weren’t really a thing back then or we would probably be in jail.
Without Barb I would not have met my husband she played match maker and it worked. I will forever be grateful. RIP

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your mom and our friend. She was a rock in times of need and such a fighter. I'm sad that she lost this battle, but I know she gave it hell until the end. She will be missed.

So many fond memories of your mom growing up. She was a loving and compassionate person , especially for her love of animals, you, Nicole and her family. She had the biggest smile and heart. She is now united with her mom and dad. They will welcome her to heaven, and embrace and love her forever. Thinking of you, her brothers and sisters and family members. Rest in peace sweet Barbara. 💜

I just left the AutoZone a couple months ago I worked closely with BARB. I also worked several years at Reliable motor parts co, She was one of a kind she stood her ground without hesitation, She backed you up when u were right about something and put you in your place when she felt u weren't. She took care of many tasks that weren't hers but did it anyway. She was a good friend, and had a great big heart. She was a tuff woman. She did this all while dealing with great pain throughout her body. She is right where she needs to be . I hope she can find somewhere to fill her reese's candy order,
