Obituary
Louise Rosamond Buller Smith, born on January 28, 1935, in Stann Creek Town, Belize, to John Buller and Susan Alberta Facunda Lecruit, peacefully transitioned from this world on March 7, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of eighty-nine.
Louise cherished her upbringing on Sue Beach, surrounded by six siblings and many relatives. Educated at an Anglican primary school, she began her journey by relocating to Belize City to pursue employment opportunities. There, she embraced the joys of motherhood, welcoming her children Norma Jean Buller, Fredrick Ernest Staine, and Yvonne Elizabeth Moss in 1954, 1956, and 1958, respectively.
Louise ultimately relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she began a new chapter, uniting in marriage with Archibald Smith. Together, they welcomed Lisa Lavern Smith and Jerry Mark Smith into the world, enriching their lives with love and laughter. After a fulfilling career, Louise retired and returned to her roots in Dangriga Town, Belize, where she spent over two decades of cherished moments with family and friends and, of course, enjoying her favorite pastime of playing boledo. Known affectionately as "Ms. Lou" or "Aunt Lou," Louise leaves a legacy of love and warmth.
She is deeply missed by her sister, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory forever engraved in our hearts.
Mother:
Dear Ma,
Now, who do I call to interpret a dream that I had?
Who will tell me to drink hot Coke and milk for gas?
Yuck! Who will I call to get any questions answered? I'm going to miss those calls. I miss you so much. I feel lost without you here. You will forever be in my heart. Be in peace, Ma. You were the best!

Love your grandson
Fred
I will miss everything about you.
The way you say my name " darati".
The way you laugh when I OD on your panades until my stomach hurts and then you make more for the next time I have a panades
binge. I will miss how Fred now 48 will always remain "little Fred" in your heart.
I will miss always packing bags to fill your barrels to send to Belize. You'll say no more and ill pack more Darati and laugh out loud.
I will miss your unconditional love for Fred and I.
My only regret is that I never made the trip to Dangria. I would always say next year Lou I'm coming for sure. Next year rolls around and I'll say next year for sure. But I always look forward to your trip
s to New york. I get to see you and load you up with more stuff.
Miss you much.
With all our love Dorothy and Fred
I was introduced to Ms. Louise in the mid eighties in New York, that’s where I discovered how remarkable she was. I was one of the recipient of the fine products she baked, please believe me her products were second to none.
I am so thankful that Joan and I were able to visit and talked to her about four weeks ago, she was also happy to see us.
Rest in peace Ms. Louise and may God continue to bless you. With all our love.
David and Joan.
