Timeline

1953
December 25th
His Birth
Apostle Hezekiah Abiodun Olusoba Ayansola was born on this day in Modakeke, Osun State (then part of the old Oyo State), as the third child of the late Elder Joseph Ayanleke Ayansola and Deaconess Racheal Mopelola Ayansola. His birth on Christmas Day seemed no mere coincidence; his entire life would become a precious gift—not only to his family but to every soul blessed to experience the warmth of his presence.
1973
March
Moved to Lagos
In 1973, the young Hezekiah journeyed to Lagos with little more than determination and a quiet faith. He began working at Westex with diligence before establishing himself in the textile fabric trade, showcasing his industry and entrepreneurial spirit. That same year, he met Cecilia Olukemi—a seemingly ordinary encounter that marked the beginning of a divine story yet to unfold.

1976
July 7th
Got Married
Hezekiah and Cecilia were united in holy matrimony, a union richly blessed with children. Their marriage, grounded not only in affection but in shared faith and mutual respect, gracefully endured the seasons of life. July 7, 2026, would have marked their 50th anniversary.
1993
September 18th
The Call of God
The call of God on his life came as early as 1978—urgent and unmistakable. Yet, like many who face the weight of divine purpose, he wrestled with it—not out of disobedience, but from a holy reverence that made him carefully measure himself against God’s calling.

For fifteen years, he waited. But God, in His infinite patience and perfect timing, would not be denied. On September 18, 1993, he fully surrendered, joining the Miracle Ground Evangelistic Ministry and stepping decisively into the life he was always meant to live. Those years of preparation were not lost; they became the fertile ground where his ministry would flourish.
1997
February 16th
Salvation Holy Spirit Gospel Church was Born
On February 16, 1997, in faithful obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit, Daddy started what would become Salvation Holy Spirit Gospel Church and Ministries, Lagos. He served as its General Overseer from that day until the Lord called him home—nearly three decades of tireless, selfless ministry that touched, transformed, and brought countless souls into the Kingdom.

What set Daddy apart as a leader was not the grandeur of title, but the sincerity of his heart. In a world often driven by the pursuit of recognition, he chose not to be called “Founder” of the church. To him, the ministry was not his own creation but God’s work entrusted to his care. He always saw himself as a humble instrument in the hands of the Almighty, a vessel through which grace could flow to others.

Call to Glory
On Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Apostle Hezekiah Abiodun Olusoba Ayansola peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal glory. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Deaconess Cecilia Olukemi Ayansola, their son, and elders of the church he had faithfully served—a fitting farewell for a man who always placed family and flock at the heart of his world.

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED FATHER

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a great servant of God, a loving mentor, and a father figure whose life was a blessing to so many.

daddy, you were more than a spiritual leader to me — you were a grandfather in love, wisdom, care, and guidance. Your words brought peace, your prayers brought strength, and your presence brought comfort to everyone around you. You lived a life of humility, kindness, and unwavering faith in God, and your impact can never be forgotten.

You taught us to trust God in all situations, to love genuinely, and to walk in righteousness. The year 2018 wasn’t just a difficult year for me, it was one of the most spiritually challenging seasons of my life.
I had an accident that left me right leg immobilized for months.
Daddy and Mummy G.O. would come to my home almost every week to pray with me and encourage me.
Since 2014, I can confidently say that he has been and will always remain one of the greatest expressions of God’s love I have ever experienced. It takes a truly God-fearing heart for children to naturally love being around you.
A few days ago, while cleaning, I found my 2014 sermon notebook. For a moment, I became emotional, and then I remembered this was a man who not only preached about God, but genuinely lived by his faith.
I still remember one of his sermons so clearly, the joy on his face as he spoke about the day he would finally see Jesus.

Apostle Hezekiah Abiodun, the love, memories, and faith you spent your entire life building in us will never die.

Since 1998, when I first came to the church, i saw that you were not just a pastor but a pastor with a heart of gold.

Your teachings were powerful and shaped us. They helped us avoid mistakes we easily could have made as teenagers. Your heart for worship was unmatched, and even now I miss the crossover services because your songs brought a joy that ushered us beautifully into the new year.

You didn’t just lead us as a pastor; you showed us love.

“The memory of the righteous is a blessing.”
Rest well, sir. Your good works still speak, and your legacy lives on in us.

Daddy, your wisdom shaped my life in ways I can never forget. Even in your absence, the values you instilled in me continue to guide my steps every day. Your voice still echoes in my heart, encouraging me to remain strong, faithful, and purposeful.

Though it hurts deeply that you are no longer here with us physically, I thank God for the privilege of being your child. Your legacy lives on in the lives you impacted, the family you nurtured, and the faith you upheld so passionately.

Daddy Ayansola was a great man of God sent from heaven to impact lives and he did exactly what he was assigned to do on earth. A very humble Pastor that honored God and all humans young and old. Daddys call to glory was a great shock to me, I never expected such at this time but his creator knows why He did now… So Daddy’s greetings to me on the alter “ E PELE MR MUSTAPHA, SALAAFIA NI? Is over? .
His prayers, personal/spiritual, guidance, passionate support, concern , encouragement and empathy for people in difficult situations will be deeply missed.
I personally glorify God almighty for Daddy Ayansola’s life because my faith in Christ was established and deeply rooted through his teachings and ministry.
May our General Overseer’s soul continue to rest on.

God will surely strengthen Mummy Ayansola, the entire family of PA Ayansola ,Pastors, workers and all members of Salvation Holy Spirit Church during this difficult time.

Pastor lived a life of impact, spreading the Gospel with boldness and carrying people along with genuine love. Though he is gone from our sight, his legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to God will never be forgotten.

Daddy was a very good man of God, very jovial and also a singer. Daddy loved old praise songs so much. A man of God who never forced his people to donate, and a man always ready to listen to his people.

To God be the glory. Grandpa(As we used to call him) was an example of true servant of God, someone who lived a life of servant always ready to give himself out as a sacrifice to situation of people around him.
It is a great privilege to meet him and work with him in Christendom. Meeting him transformed my Spiritual life and also physical because , I am a changed man.
His word of counselling and spiritual directive will be miss for many years to come. He fought and won, he never compromised despite all challenges
Many years back, he called me if I will like to be his personnel assistant, a great privilege to work with him.
He was a man of respect and devoted to the word of God preached by him.
I was privileged to be with him throughout his transition to glory, just like the way Elijah was taken way from Elisha. I saw his last breath unforgettable memory of life time.
It is a great privilege serving him and staying beside him till the last day
Grandpa continue to rest on the blossom of God. We will all continue in the path you had showed us.
Good night Grandpa

In 1999 when I was in Js1, they told us to write a letter to our family member and tell them about our first term on school.

I wrote to your dad and started with 'dear uncle', I sealed my letter so my dad couldn't read it and he gave it to your dad.

Your dad read my letter, sent me money for new school bags and shoes and told my dad to tell me he is not my uncle but my dad.

And that's how I have seen him always even till now, my daddy in Lagos.

He was a man of quiet spirit, gentle and yet his sermons are memorable. I particularly love his Bible study sessions.

While this loss my feel so personal to you, I want you to know that I am with you and lifting up our entire family in prayer.

When we shall see Him, we would all be like Him, He would wipe away our tears, there would be no more sorrow or pain.

Stay strong and be comforted pls. We love you daddy!

Tribute to a Faithful Servant

Today we honor a life well-lived, a beloved minister of God who has finished the race and kept the faith. For decades, you stood as a shepherd, a counselor, and a father. Even as the years advanced, your spirit remained youthful in hope and steadfast in prayer.

You never retired from loving people. With hands that had been raised in blessing countless times and a voice that had spoken words of comfort at weddings, baptisms, and funerals, you showed us that ministry is not a role but a way of life. Your sermons were not just spoken from the pulpit but lived out in quiet acts of kindness visiting the sick, encouraging the weary, and welcoming strangers as though they were angels.

Though your steps slowed, your intercessions never did. You carried the burdens of your congregation on a heart shaped by decades of surrender to Christ. In your final days, you still whispered the names of those you loved, lifting them to the One you had served so long.

Now you have entered the joy of your Master. You have exchanged your earthly tent for a heavenly dwelling. We will miss your gentle counsel, your knowing smile, and the peace that always seemed to follow in your wake.

Rest well, good and faithful servant. Your legacy lives on in every life you touched, and your reward is great in heaven.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
