It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio Ornelas on November 20, 2025 at the age of 83. Antonio’s sudden passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of the Ornelas and Silva family and those blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing him.
Obituary
Born July 26, 1942 in Sabara- Minas Gerais - Brazil, Antonio lived a full and wonderful life filled with family, friends, and Faith. He found profound joy in reading and in prayer, as a devoted follower of Our Lady of Grace. He loved watching his beloved grandson Antonio glide through the water in swimming competitions, and he delighted in the simple pleasures of fine food, funny histories and a good whiskey. At the age of 80, he embraced the beauty of travel, discovering new places with wonder and gratitude. His heart overflowed with infinite love for his faithful companions, his beloved dogs Mickey and Belinha, who brought him comfort and joy every day.
He dedicated many years to his work as a supervisor in pipe shop operations and as a manager responsible for the construction of metal structures for major petrochemical projects in Brazil. His expertise played a vital role in the planning and mechanical analysis of complex structures, making a significant and lasting contribution to the success of these endeavors.
Antonio is predeceased by his beloved Sister Maria Cecilia Ornelas (Maninha). He is survived by his beloved daughter Giselle Ornelas and her husband Luciano Silva and his sons Paulo Ornelas and Anderson Ornelas, and his cherished grandchildren; Antonio Ornelas, Daniel, Marcos, and Ícaro who were the very light of his life. Fondly remembered by Seni as the loving parent of their children. He also leaves behind dear cousins from the Evangelista family: Eustaquio (Taco - his beloved cousin), Maria Dolores (Tia Dorinha), Vitor Hugo, Aguinaldo and Dercilio ( Tenem). Among his most loyal friends; friends who were like adopted children to him; were his treasured companions: Alexandre Sakai, Patrícia Pacheco, and Aloísio Pacheco. Their unwavering support and steadfast friendship stood as pillars of love and loyalty, illuminating his journey and filling his days with warmth, joy, and meaning.
Visitation will be held Tuesday December 2, 2025 at Bayview Cemetery (upstairs chapel) 740 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington from 12:00PM to 2:00PM.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday December 3, 2025 at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 20 Idlewood Drive, Hamilton, at 10:30AM.
Psalm 136:1 reminds us, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
