AN ANGEL-LINE ON EARTH; A GLORIOUS MEMORY FOREVER REMAINS
Tribute to Late Mrs. Ambassador Angeline Matthew Akpan
By Prince Ekpuk Jumbo Family
Some names are given by birth, but fulfilled by character.
Perhaps she was named Angeline because of her beauty, gentleness, and grace, but through her life of compassion, kindness, and service, she truly became an Angel-line on earth — a divine path of blessing to humanity.
Mama was not only beautiful in appearance; she was beautiful in heart, speech, wisdom, and conduct. Her healing presence, peaceful nature, and motherly embrace made her a refuge to many. Though she gave birth to only a few biological children, her benevolence and love made countless others become her children in life, faith, and community.
As a devoted nurse and caring wife, she reflected uncommon patience, discipline, and sacrificial love. Her marriage life stood as a shining example of unity, dignity, and virtue. In Christianity, she was more than a church member; she was a true mother of faith whose counsel, prayers, and encouragement strengthened many souls.
In political circles, cooperative societies, women’s organizations, and farmers’ associations, Mama distinguished herself through wisdom, honesty, leadership, and peaceful coexistence. She served diligently, united people selflessly, and carried responsibilities with uncommon maturity. Little wonder she was continually elevated to higher and active positions of trust and honour.
As an Ambassador, she carried herself with dignity, humility, and wisdom. Like the biblical Ambassador Mary, she represented peace, kindness, and noble womanhood. Her prudent judgment and calm approach to issues made her a voice of reconciliation and stability wherever she served.
Many lovingly called her “Mma Akpan” and “Akpan Mma” — an important mother without equal. Indeed, she was a pillar, a comforter, a counselor, and a blessing beyond measure.
Though her physical voice is silent today, her impact speaks loudly in the lives she touched, the homes she united, the associations she strengthened, and the countless hearts she lifted.
Truly, she was an Angel-line on earth.
Her glorious memory will forever remain.
Adieu, Great Mother.
Adieu, Woman of Grace.
Adieu, Our Angel-line.

"To know Aunty Angeline (Mma Doctor) was to know a truly one-of-a-kind soul. She lived life with a vibrant, unique spirit that was entirely her own, leaving an unforgettable mark on all of us. But perhaps what I admired most was her incredible humility. She was never afraid to say 'I'm Sorry,' holding herself accountable with a grace that taught us all about the power of humility and reconciliation. Her warmth, her uniqueness, and her gentle heart will be deeply missed.
Rest in Peace

TRIBUTE TO MY SECOND MOTHER.
MMA as I fondly called her was a model, a virtuous woman with values, wisdom, dignity and discipline. It was a great privilege growing under her roof for years. Under her roof she inculcated in me the spirit of resilience, discipline, commitment, determination, contentment, generosity and Godliness.
One special thing about MMA was the great sense of hospitality, no one visit MMA and leave without a touch of drink, food or snacks.

She nurtured and encouraged me just like her child. In her word " Mba go to school and acquire a certificate of your own so that you will have what to eat with your children".
MMA is death but her good memories, impact and legacies remain in our hearts.
May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

A TRIBUTE TO MY GRANDMA

Grandma… I don’t think I was ready for this.

The time I spent with you might not have been forever, but it was real, it was warm, and it meant everything. You gave me a kind of love that was calm and steady, the kind that doesn’t need to shout to be felt.

There are moments I keep replaying in my mind… the simple ones, the quiet ones, the ones I didn’t even realise would become memories I’d hold on to like this.

Being with you felt like peace. Like home.

I’m grateful for every second, every conversation, every presence shared. If I could go back, I would sit with you a little longer, listen a little more, and hold on a little tighter.

But even in this pain, I’m thankful because I got to know you, to love you, and to be loved by you.

I will carry you with me always, Grandma. In my heart, in my spirit, and in the way I choose to love others.

Rest well.
You will never be forgotten.

A TRIBUTE TO MY MUM

Mummy… my mother, my everything.

When life took my own mother from me, I was too young to understand the weight of that loss. But God, in His mercy, gave me you. You didn’t just step in, you stood in fully, lovingly, and without hesitation.

You raised me with strength and tenderness. You carried me through life with a love so pure that I never truly felt the absence of what I had lost. You became my comfort, my teacher, my protector, and my guide.

Everything good in me has a trace of you in it. The way I love my children, the way I endure, the way I show up for life, it all comes from the woman you were to me.

You were more than an aunt. You were my mother in every sense of the word.

Letting you go is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But I hold on to the truth that your love did not end, it only changed form.

Thank you for raising me. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being my Mummy.

Rest peacefully, my mother.
You have done well.

Tribute to my Awesome Aunt.
Aunty Uyo as you were fondly called by your nephews and nieces, you simply have gone to be with your maker who you always tried to instilled in us boys whether we like it or not, last time I saw you you still wanted to make your signature tea for me 😄.
You were simply an enigma, a one woman squad.
You came you saw and you lived life to the fullest, you one way or the other shaped the way I drive today, the way you drove your Volkswagen beetle thru the village in ikot inyang on top speed like you were on the highway was a sight to behold.
Nothing fazed you, you challenged life fully, you were a force to reckon with, got my fair share of smacking sha.
Your boy is all grown with kids, painful you didn't get to meet them, you would have spoilt them silly.
Aunty as you soar with the Angels, just know you left an indelible mark in my heart. I'll miss you sorely.

- Goodbye Mrs Angeline Mathew Akpan

I first met Mrs Angeline Mathew Akpan in her Son , my friend Ime. Alias- stayn .
.
Her husband , late Dr Mathew Akpan provided the wings and she cleared the sky through strict parental care , deeply rooted in Love & unity. ..both parent successfully instituted and planted good seed of ; moral values , policies and principle that carefully aligned with the realms of Christian brand of faith that resulted in high yielding result in life soaring for my friend and the entire family.
Mummy , after her husband death combined dual duties of the parent and worked hard from dawn to dust even added few hrs on both ends to make sure family standard was/ is maintained.

Her fast knowledge became a tools for solutions in other areas of life , she was a prudent manager of resources and key player in human empowerment . Where she did not solve the problem for you , she would give you the clarity to fix it.
She lives a balance life and was never pompous or carried away by the trappings of achievement; rather humility and sincerity were her code in life .
Mummy’s qualities & style make us richer not only in pocket but in wisdom, in God’s vineyard, in experience, in our chosen career, in innovations ,in contacts; in life awareness and inspiration.
I will end this piece with the lyrics of Micheal Smith song ( an American Christian Artist) “i will be there for you “,
My dear friend ,stayn and the entire family , when you miss your mummy remember her prayers are permanently bonded with God promises -
“”I will be there for you , somewhere in the night , i will be standing by . I will be there for you .”””””””””
We must therefore keep her candle on by lighting other candles , after all a candle losses nothing lighting another candle .
Difficult to say good nite and goodbye : Rest with the Almighty God Mama.

TRIBUTE TO MY DEAREST AND ONLY SISTER.

Death is an inevitable call to all mortals but even at 82 years I still expected you to live longer but I can't question God - you were a sister indeed.

"Sister" as I fondly called you, you were a woman with a heart of gold and a thorough disciplinarian, an unshakable force of strength in our lives. Out of the four of us our mother gave birth to, you were the only one who stood tall through thick and thin as the only woman amongst three men - no one tampers with your right.

I will forever miss you my dear sister, your calls every other day, your smiles and all that we shared together, you stood by me in difficult times even on your sick bed, you kept checking on me, today I am left alone.
As we mourn your departure we also celebrate a life beautifully lived.

Dearest sister, your journey on Earth has ended but your light shines eternally in the hearts of those you loved. We thank God for the precious gift of your life and the Legacy of love, faith, and compassion you have left behind.

Rest peacefully in the bosom of the lord, where there is no more pain or sorrow.

A Tribute to a Life Well Lived

Today, we honor and celebrate the beautiful life of an extraordinary woman who graced this world for 82 remarkable years. A woman of strength, wisdom, and quiet grace, she lived a life that touched hearts, built generations, and left behind memories that will never fade.

She was a pillar of love—steadfast, patient, and deeply caring. Through every season of life, she gave of herself selflessly, nurturing her family, guiding with wisdom, and standing firm in faith and resilience. Her words carried comfort, her presence brought peace, and her laughter lit up even the darkest days.

At 82, she leaves behind not just years, but a legacy—of kindness, dignity, and unwavering devotion. She showed us what it means to live with purpose, to love without limits, and to face life’s challenges with courage and grace.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in the fullness of her life. She lived, she loved, and she mattered deeply. Her legacy will continue in the lives she shaped, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely.

Rest peacefully, dear mother, grandmother, and friend. Your journey here is complete, but your impact will live on forever in our hearts.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Deepest tribute to a woman who took us as her own. Ime’s mum never drew a line between us and her children .. we were all hers. Her heart was open, her spirit pure, and her judgments carried a rare innocence that made you feel safe and loved without condition. Whatever she had, she shared freely.

The last time she called me, her voice was full of joy: “Akan, how are you? Ime has given me a new bouncing baby boy. I named him Akaninyene. Please thank God for me. I wish you well too.”

That simplicity… that genuine love… it nearly brought me to tears.
She lived a life that spoke quietly but powerfully — a life of kindness, selflessness, and grace. She didn’t just pass through our lives; she left marks that time cannot erase.

She will never be forgotten. Truly, the story of my life will remain incomplete without a paragraph about her — a paragraph filled with warmth, gratitude, and the memory of a woman who loved beyond limits.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Dear Mama Angeline, though my contact with you was brief and without words spoken, yet I felt a deep sense of loss at your passing. The grace and calmness you possesed in your final days despite your declining health tells of a woman who was a paragon of strength and to whom people came to for strength and comfort in their times of trouble. This aligns with all the testimonies from those who knew you, that you lived sacrificially, generously and bore the burdens of others as if they were your own.
I only wish I knew you longer but find solace in the knowledge that you are in a better place, far from all the troubles of this world.
May you continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord Amen!

A Tribute to Mrs. Angeline Matthew Akpan
We gather with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude to celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman — Mrs. Angeline Matthew Akpan, beloved mother of our dear friend, Ime Akpan, fondly known as Stainless.
Mommy, was more than just a mother; she was the quiet strength, the warm embrace, and the unwavering anchor in the lives of her children, especially her son Ime. Their bond was special — deep, tender, and unbreakable. From his childhood through adulthood, Stainless found in his mother a best friend, a confidante, and a constant source of love and wisdom. He was not just her son; he was her pride, her joy, and her closest companion.
Mrs. Angeline Matthew Akpan lived a long and fulfilled life — a life marked by grace, resilience, sacrifice, and quiet dignity. She poured herself into her family, nurturing her children with the kind of love that shapes destinies and builds character. Her home was a place of warmth, her words carried encouragement, and her presence brought peace.
She witnessed many seasons of life, celebrated countless milestones, and left behind a legacy far greater than material things — a legacy of faith, love, and devotion. Through her life, she taught the timeless values of kindness, perseverance, and the beauty of simple, honest living.
To Stainless and the entire Akpan family, we know that no tribute can fully capture the depth of what Mommy meant to you. The void she leaves is immense because the love she gave was immense. But we take comfort in knowing that she lived well, she loved deeply, and she is now resting in the arms of her Creator, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow.
Mommy, thank you for the life you lived. Thank you for the son you raised — a man who carries, your values, and your spirit in his heart. Your memories will continue to light up the lives of all who knew and loved you.
You ran your race with dignity. You fought a good fight. You finished well.
Rest in perfect peace, Mrs. Angeline Matthew Akpan.
Your legacy lives on in Ime and in everyone whose life you touched.
We love you, Mommy.
We will miss you dearly.

Ime,
I was deeply saddened by the passing of your dear mother, aunty uyo, fondly called by my wife and her siblings. She was a kind and caring woman who meant so much to me and my family.

My dear aunty, your passing has left a space in our lives that can never truly be filled. You were a strong and unforgettable woman—outspoken, bold, and never afraid to say things exactly as they were.

You spoke your truth with courage, and even when your words were sharp, they always came from a place of honesty and a genuine heart. That was your way, you kept it real, and that made you special. In a world where many hide their feelings, you stood out by being unapologetically yourself.

Beyond your strength, you had a presence that could not be ignored. You made people think, you made people laugh, and you made sure your voice was heard.

Though you are no longer with us, the impact of your words, your strength, and your spirit will stay with us forever. Rest well, dear aunty. You will always be remembered, respected, and deeply missed.
