Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angela Kristy Potts, age 56, of McDonough, Georgia on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. Kris was born on June 14th, 1968 in Tucker, GA to Earl Potts (married to Sharron Potts) and Wanda Potts Dameron (married to Ray Dameron).
Kris is a graduate of Forest Park Senior High School and became a licensed massage therapist. Her gift was helping others. Diagnosed in her early adult life with Crohn’s disease, Kris was a warrior in every sense, facing life's challenges with grace and strength. Her legacy is one of perseverance, love, and unwavering support for those she cared about. She is best described as a world-class mother, fiancée, Gammie, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. To know her was truly to love her.
Kris is survived by her daughters Kassidy Shealy Jones (married to Austin Jones) and Kori Shealy Cook (married to Jackson Cook), fiancé John T. (Tommy) Sims, grandchildren Ashton Jones, Autumn Jones and Caroline Cook, brother John Potts (married to Jenifer Potts), sisters Ronda Phillips (married to John D. Phillips) and Jackie Beavers (married to Robert Beavers), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Kris was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. The only thing that she loved more than watching sports was spending time with her family. Her wish was for those attending her memorial service to wear their favorite Braves or Bulldogs gear, or her favorite color pink.
A service to celebrate Kris’s life will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024. The family will have a visitation beginning at 10:30am. Service will start at 11:00am at Community Bible Church at 2001 Jodeco Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. https://communitybible.church/ (https://communitybible.church/). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation at www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org (http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/)

“Hey Libby!! This is Kris. I just want to tell you how absolutely stunning you were on Saturday! You are always beautiful of course, but Saturday you were just stunning!🥰🥰🥰“ Kori and I joked about her txting me but it meant more to me than she probably realized. She will be greatly missed by so many.
