Obituary
In Loving Memory of Abaka Ange Désiré Aboa
Ange Desire, a devoted husband, cherished brother, beloved uncle, godfather, and loyal friend, passed away on March 28th at the age of 37. Born on December 7, 1987, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Ange was the son of the late Bernard Cotchi Aboa and Genevieve Aboa. He spent his formative years in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Riviera 3 Allabra). Ange had Catholic infused education that spanned from Sainte Famille for Lower School, Small Seminary of Bingerville for middle school and Saint Jean Bosco for High School. In 2006, Ange moved to the United States to pursue higher education, first at Collin College and later at the University of Texas at Dallas, from which he graduated in 2011.
After graduation, Ange landed a job as a Valuation Analyst/Business Analyst at Freddy Mac, launching a promising finance career. He then did a short stint as a Senior Credit Analyst at Citibank before becoming a Private Equity Analyst at S&P. Throughout his career, Ange was recognized for his precision, diligence, and constant pursuit of excellence. He is one of the few Africans in the world to become a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Above all, Ange was a man devoted to his family, community and faith. Ange shared most of his life with his loving wife of nearly two decades Afua Philomena Ampem. They were deeply devoted to each other and shared loving memories filled with travel adventures. A pillar of strength and compassion, he was always present to listen, offer guidance, and extend unwavering support to his siblings Madeleine, Rolande, Marie Yvonne, and Marie Phineal. His boundless love and devotion to his mother, Genevieve, were a profound source of comfort following the passing of his father, Bernard. Above all, Ange was a loving and kind person who always had a genuine desire to help and support others
Ange had a remarkable gift for forging deep connections. His warmth, charisma, and openness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Many friendships and even marriages blossomed through his gracious presence. An avid athlete and talented footballer, he earned the affectionate nickname of “Lievrus” (Little Rabbit) for his agility and remarkable speed on the field. Those who knew him will forever remember his vibrant energy and unforgettable laughter.
We invite all who had the privilege of knowing Ange to visit his memorial page to share their stories, memories, and photographs. Let us come together with his wife, mother, siblings, and family to honor the legacy of a man whose kindness, generosity, and joy touched countless lives.

Adieu Aboa, Adieu l'ami

I was shocked when I heard your departure from this world. . You were calm, intelligent, joyful, sociable, and very nice to all of us. It is hard to take such kind of pill for someone who has a bright future ahead of him. I pray God that you will rest in peace. My sincere condolences to your biological family and may God be with them through this difficult time.
Ange repose en paix tu vas beaucoup nous manquer❤️
I could have never imagined writing this, words feel so small in the face of such a deep loss. You were more than a friend, a brother to me, a constant source of light, laughter and support. I always looked up to you, for being so smart, rational, with a rare gift, loving without conditions, and to bring comfort even in the darkest times. Your kindness, your joy touched everyone lucky enough to know you. I am grateful for the time we shared, you will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace brother and may God welcome your soul!
Angelo (as I used to call him) was more than just a friend—he was a brother, the kind of person who showed up, lifted others up, and made everything around him better. He had a joyful spirit, a generous heart, and a mind that was as sharp as it was kind. He loved sports, not just for the competition, but for the passion, the drive, and the camaraderie that came with it.
I’ll never forget when I first got to the States—feeling uncertain and far from home—and I called him and he said, “Bro, do not hesitate if you need any help.” That simple sentence meant everything, and it captured exactly who he was: always ready to support others, always sincere, always caring.
We’ve lost someone truly special, but I know his kindness, strength, and laughter will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, my bro.
Almighty GOD has put you on our path so that we can experience who Angels truly are and all the values that They hold: kindness, humility, self-giving. Beyond your name, You show us these values in your attitude at every moment and it is a grace to know you and experienced these unforgettable moments with you. Our games in the neighborhoods, studies at the Holy Family and the Petit Seminaire...
Now your mission here on earth ends, for another certainly more glorious one near Almighty GOD that you loves and served with devotion.
Thank you so much for everything and so much.
May your soul rest in peace Bro.
I'll never forget the time we spoke about my plans for a VBAC. His genuine concern for my well-being, rooted in a past experience close to him, made me pause and consider deeply. That was the kind of person he was – caring deeply and offering guidance born of experience.
He approached everything with excellence; his home and himself always a picture of being thoughtfully put together.
Though we never became incredibly close, the glimpses I had into his character were more than enough to leave a lasting impression. I often wish I had spent more time with him, but I am so grateful for the time we did have. He will always hold a place in my heart.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will surely be deeply missed.
Que ton âme repose en paix, Ange Désiré !!
when I think about you, I still have this super smart go getter not afraid of any competition person. You were vibrant in your way and today again I want to see your vibrance explode in all of us.
We love you and will continue to love you.
Brotherhood for life eternal.
It’s hard to find the right words to say goodbye to someone like you. You weren’t just a friend—you were a brother, a helper, and a blessing to so many of us. You were the one we could all count on, whether it was for a ride, a helping hand, or even when we were struggling to make ends meet.
I’ll never forget how you helped me cover my tuition when I was at one of the lowest points of my life during the war in Ivory Coast. You didn’t hesitate—you just gave from your heart, like you always did. That’s who you were. Always there. Always giving. Always kind.
You never had issues with anyone. You carried yourself with peace, humility, and quiet strength. It breaks my heart that you’re gone too soon, but I’ll carry your memory with me always.
Thank you for being who you were. We’ll never forget you, Ange. Rest easy, my friend.
