I just heard about Andrew’s passing tonight and I’m very saddened to hear. Andrew and I worked together many years ago and he left a lasting impression on me. Sending all my strength to Charlene and family.

I can't believe you're gone, man! I'm going to miss you so much.

Andrew was a great guy with an incredible sense of humour. I have fond memories of skiing, cycling, dinners & visits. He was always there to lend a hand (the number of times he fixed/readied a bike for me to ride & waxed my skiis!) & quick with a joke. He will be missed terribly. My heart goes out to you Charlayne & family. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

Condolences to you, Char and all your family. Andrew.was a much loved giant in the biking community. He lived a life full of adventures big and small. Passing by cyclists in the forest, Andrew always had an easy smile, a funny remark, or stopped to help fix your mechanical or find your way. Earlier this month he reached out with heartfelt words of support for John His passion for riding was infectious. The joy he brought to the forest will be felt as we rock the trails.

I was lucky to know Andrew for close to two decades; he truly was one of the good ones. Every time we connected at the office, on the road or for lunch he would make a point to ask how my family was doing. He cared about people in a way that was real, and he never missed an opportunity to brighten someone’s day with a quick joke or a smile.

I still remember the first time I met him, sitting on an exercise ball at his desk saying it was “great for his back,” a moment that perfectly captured who he was; unique, full of humour, and impossible to forget.

One thing we shared over the years was talking about stock cars and nascar. Andrew will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

My deepest condolences go out to Char and the entire family.

Andrew thank you for all the laughs, the memories, and your kindness. You’ll be missed, but never forgotten, I will be forever grateful to have met you.

If it wasn’t for Andrew, I would never have met my close friend Charlayne. I still remember one day at the pub with the Misfit gang when he said, “Bring your bike over. You will really like my wife Char.” And he was right.
Bikes, dogs, beer, and Talladega Nights — that was Andrew. His sense of humour wasn’t for everyone, but it was always genuine. Whenever I visited Char and Andrew, there’d be some cheesy movie playing in the background, and he’d be quietly giggling while I tried to chat with Char. “What are you watching, Andrew?” — “Talladega Nights.” He even lent me the movie.
He was always offering to look at my bikes, tune them, and share his love of riding. As a new rider, I’ll never forget how patient he was, stopping along the trails to teach me. He was a stickler for trail etiquette, always helping to clear paths, and we all shared countless rides with our dogs at Ravenshoe. My girl Paxton loved to mess with him, stopping mid-climb just to hear him laugh and tell her to “move her butt!” She made fast friends with Hugo and Briko, and those rides taught me how much joy there was in riding with my own dog.
Beyond the trails, there were holidays, meals shared, and moments of support when I needed it most. When I had a litter of puppies, Luna found her way into Andrew and Char’s life, and he doted on her. Then came Lexi… his little princess. Watching the way he cared for them showed just how deeply he loved his dogs and how much joy they brought into his life.
One thing has always stuck with me: Andrew was a good man. He loved his family, his dogs, and his bikes.
His passion for cycling was like no other. Everyone loves this sport in their own way, but Andrew’s love was inspiring. I’m grateful I met him all those years ago.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences .I will keep in my heart and my mind a very vivid image of him in our meetings and during our Sales meetings, with his gentle way of sharing, enveloped with a wry sense of humor that always managed to set one at ease or bring a perspective to a complicated situation. I also wanted to mention that Andrew is and will be one of the TRUE GENTLEMEN which one might meet in their lifetime and it was both a pleasure and an honor to have been able to work with him and call him a friend.

Cathy, this news is heartbreaking. As mentioned, the "Sunnyside Boys" in the early 80's were always together skateboarding on their homemade backyard ramps, biking and just having a great time together.

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Andrew. He was an old school gentleman with a wacky sense of humor. Andrew was kind, generous, and helpful. As well as being a judge of good beer, Andrew appreciated a good single malt whisky. He will be greatly missed..

My sincere condolences. I’m so sad to learn this. Andrew was such a great guy. Many years ago, I was in a big group of riders on a charity road ride. I flatted early on and Andrew stopped with me. He helped me fix my flat and then proceeded to take the lead and pull me uphill and upwind many kilometres all the way back up to the group. I’m certain I’m not the only one who has a story just like this about Andrew.

Andrew was a work colleague of mine at Solidcad, Redcage, and Graitec. Andrew always was dedicated to his craft and overall a very decent human-being. Andrew will surely be missed by all those his life touched. Rest in peace Andrew. My sincere condolences to Charlayne, family, and friends.

Andrew was one of my mentors when I first started mountain biking over 20 years ago. We made some great memories when we volunteered on the DMBA board together. He was the best at making the corny jokes and was one of the most spirited people I have ever met. I’ll miss ya buddy, rest in peace. ❤️

Charlaine, my deepest sympathy and condolences on Andrew’s passing. I fondly remember Andrew offering to assist me in running the Time Trials. Andrew did a lot to grow the TT participation, he was always looking for a way to do it better. He was a pleasure to work with, and I will miss him.

Andrew was someone who always made time to say hello with a smile. The common ground of being outside and at events with him was the perfect place to get to know his genuine character and charismatic personality. He will truly be missed.

Such a shock to learn of Andrew’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him in the bike world about 22 yrs ago. We kept in touch and I’ll always remember his generosity when it was time to build up some cool kids bikes for my young boys- he was a major sponsor with some great gear. We kept in touch, but clearly not enough. We are all thinking of you Char, and will definitely carry on the kindness that Andrew lived by!

Very sad news. I was mostly a fan from afar, but our paths crossed in the single-speed days, and I’ll always remember his passion for the details. God rest his soul

Andrew was such a big part of my life, from ski school to cycling he is part of so many wonderful memories. My deepest condolences to Char and his family.

I am so very sorry - Char and family, accept our deepest condolences from Peter and me. Andrew was such a kind soul, and never without a quip or an observation that was either helpful or hilarious and most often both. Anytime we were on the trails together, including in my more novice days, he was always encouraging and fun to ride with (and of course helped more than once with a trailside repair!) and a true gentleman. We will miss him. How very sad.

I only just learned of this and I'm so devastated for all of you. I didn't realize Andrew had only one year on me, knowing you guys through mountain biking over the years, it was always a joyous occasion to share a laugh and I can hardly remember a time when Andrew wasn't around the cycling scene.

Andrew. I could always count on you for a laugh, a beer, a shoulder to cry on, a good cup of coffee, citing rule #5 if I whined on a ride, and a great chat while you fixed my bike. You baked a mean millionaire shortbread and had the most interesting collection of cycling socks I’ve ever seen. We made some bad (but good) decisions together, like all those 3:00 am pub crawls. I will miss you so much. Rest in peace, my good friend.
