Obituary
Andrew “Andy” James Spain passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home in Phoenix, AZ. He was 36 years old.
He is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Aldonna Spain and sister, Dana Spain. Andy loved his uncle, Dino Mastropietro, who was a great part of his early life and his best friend since age 12, Reid Phillips, who remained his buddy and great supporter. Andy is also survived by his uncle, Dino (Tina) Mastropietro of Garden City, Michigan, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Andy was born in Hinsdale, Illinois. He grew up in Santa Barbara, California and Scottsdale, Arizona. In his early years, Andy was a Screen Actors Guild Member (SAG) appearing in numerous national TV commercials and on the TV show Coach.
In Scottsdale, he attended Zuni Elementary, Desert Canyon Middle School, and Desert Mountain High School. Andy loved playing baseball and was an All-Star player. He was quick witted, always saying some of the funniest things, playing jokes, and looking to have fun. He loved music, enjoyed championship wrestling, and was a devoted Comic collector. Andy worked as the Inventory Manager at Four Seasons Motor Company and then at Fry’s and Whole Foods.
Andy was inviting, easy going, and had a young-at-heart quality. He was a skateboarder, took pride and enjoyed his aquarium, always enjoyed helping his fellow man at NA meetings and events which gave him much happiness and pride. Andy was well liked by everyone due to his positive, sunny energy and sense of humor. He always made time to help others.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have known him and been part of his life.
