Obituary
With profound sorrow and unwavering faith, the Tiah, Dent, Jebboe, Monger, and Sawyer Families announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Amy Martina Tiah. Amy departed this life at 11:30 AM on September 15, 2025, at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her life was a shining testament to love, resilience, and grace, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Amy was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives across continents. She was predeceased by her father, James Saydee Tiah, Sr.; her mother, Adeline Dent Jebboe; her brother, Michael Jebboe; and her sister, Alison Tiah. Yet, her spirit remains alive in the memories and hearts of those she loved deeply.
She is survived by her devoted children, Alexander Nah Sleweon, Superintendent Designate of Sinoe County, and Adeline Wea Elfring (Rennis); her cherished grandchildren; her loving mother, Edith Cooper Tiah; and her siblings—Sam J'blee Tiah (Georgia), Bernice Jebboe Cooper (Lawrence), Julia Tiah, Conteh Albertha Tiah, J. Clifford Tiah (Helena), ClIr. Dexter Tiah (Remmie), Marilyn Tiah Morris (Rev. Dr. Emmanuel), James Saydee Tiah, II (Beatrice), Africanus Tiah (Marie), Franklin Tiah, and Michelle Tiah Sawdamal (Aaron). Her legacy extends through a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends across Africa, the United States, and Europe.
Though her physical presence has left us, her spirit, kindness, and the love she shared will forever be cherished. We take comfort in knowing that Amy’s journey continues in the lives she touched and in the memories we hold dear. May her soul rest peacefully, and may her legacy inspire us to live with love, resilience, and grace as she did.
