Alexander Moran

A beautiful soul, deeply loved and dearly missed.

Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Alexander Damien Moran, who was born on July 19th, 2010 and passed away on October 10th, 2026.

Alexander, was a true seeker of knowledge. He thrived mathematically and philosophically, constantly pushing the boundaries of his own understanding. He never settled for simple answers, choosing instead to dive into complex problems with an open and analytical mind. He was incredibly driven, strong willed, and honest, and he loved with all his heart.

His passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. Alex will be deeply missed. We'll see him again someday- on the other side.

We invite everyone who knew Alex to contribute to this memorial page. You can easily add photos, videos, memories, comments, or stories you'd like to share. Our goal is to gather everyone's posts on one permanent and easily accessible page. We will also be preparing a slideshow to play at his memorial and encourage people to share in their own meaningful way.

Alex was such a kind, thoughtful and light hearted person. He made every room he walked into brighter, and every person laugh. His education was so advanced but so was his thoughts for others. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll forever cherish the memories, laughs, and moments we shared. You were so loved and will be missed more than words can say. I’ll carry your memory with me always. rest peacefully. Class office meets won’t ever be the same without you, you brought so many jokes and bright ideas to help benefit our class. I remember last summer we were selling tickets for ADAPT of our after prom, we were selling barbecue chicken dinners, we had walked around asking people if they would like to buy one and you amazed everyone in town on your proper dress attire and your advanced vocabulary. You truly made an impact on this town. We will honor you in every way we can, rest easy Alex. Vice president forever🕊️

Alex when I first met you we got to talking and i remember showing you my taste in music and talking to you about philosophy but also just life and nature in general we used to hangout and talk for hours and hours no matter where I was you made sure to stay in touch even when I was living all the way across the United States and there was a 3 hour time difference I always knew I could depend on you to be there for me and you where so smart for you age and understood things that I still can’t even comprehend you amazed me with your level of emotional maturity and intelligence and you also where one of the few people who I could listen to music with for hours and all different types I still remember when we first messed around with your stereo system and tried to find out what sounded best for about 30 mins only to just put it back to the regular settings or going with you and your mom to bensons to get ice cream that one time and we devoured what we got in like 5 mins but man am I gonna miss you there are so many things I wanted to do with you man and I swear I’ll keep my word on our promise till I see you again love you Alex -stevens

Although I didn’t personally know him, I was someone who observed the people around me, even when I wasn’t always the person others took the time to get to know. And from what I saw, he always seemed like a bright, funny young kid who had so much potential and so much life ahead of him. He was someone I genuinely believed would go places in life, someone who had so much more time to grow, experience the world, and become the person he was meant to be.
It’s heartbreaking to think that someone so young could be gone just like that. Sometimes we forget that behind every person is a story, a family, friends, dreams, and a future they were supposed to have. We never really know what someone is going through or how much time we have with them, and tragedies like this remind us just how fragile life truly is. My heart genuinely goes out to his family, his friends, and everyone who loved him. I can’t imagine the pain of losing someone so young, especially in such a tragic way. No words can take away that kind of hurt, but I hope they know that his life mattered, that his presence made an impression, and that he deserves to be remembered for more than the way he passed away. Even though I didn’t know him personally, I saw something in him that made me believe he had a future ahead of him. And it hurts knowing that future was cut short.

Alex, you were a brilliant, amazing, kind, caring human being. You deserved so much more than this world had to offer. You brought so much joy to others and cared so much about everyone. You were an amazing person to talk to and had the best words of advice as-well as wisdom. Your presence was so appreciated by so many people and you will be so so deeply missed.
Rest easy alex.

Alex was always such a kind soul, no matter who he was talking too. Between having all of our advanced classes together to you being by my side as VP while I sorted out presidency, you were always such a big help to me. You always gave me the best advice and were always by my side. All weekend I didn't want to admit you were gone but going back to school, I had to face reality and it hit me hard. All of the memories we made through school have been ones I will always keep, whether it's touring venues for prom and you loving the grandfather clock to tripping on your backpack in 8th grade bio, you'll always have a spot in my heart. You were taken way to soon buddy. Our duo will never leave and I'll keep it living always. Thank you for everything you did for me. Until we meet again 🤍

Alex, it’s so heartbreaking to think that someone so young, who had so much life ahead of him, is gone. Even though we weren’t close, I’ll always remember the conversations we had in the hallways of high school and how you could always put a smile on anyone’s face. It’s crazy how even the smallest interactions with someone can leave a lasting impression. You deserved so much more time, and it’s heartbreaking that your story ended so soon. I hope you knew how much your presence mattered, even in the little moments. Rest easy, Alex. You’ll be remembered and missed more than you know. 🕊️🤍

alex was such a smart young man with a heart that was just as amazing as the person he was. he held himself to high standards and had so many qualities that made him someone truly special. he was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help someone, regardless of whether it benefited him or whether anyone else noticed. he had a way of showing up for people, and that kind of kindness is something that should never go unrecognized. alex was so much more than a name or a memory. he was a friend, a son, a grandson, a brother, and someone who touched the lives of the people fortunate enough to know him. he had his own personality, his own way of doing things, and so many little things that made him uniquely alex. it is heartbreaking to lose someone who meant so much to so many people, and there really are no words that can make a loss like this any easier. i hope that when people think of alex, they remember his intelligence, his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and the person he was every single day. i hope we can honor his memory by being a little kinder to one another, checking in on the people we love, and remembering that mental health matters. alex deserves to be remembered for the person he was, for the love he gave, and for the memories he left behind. he was loved, he mattered, and he always will. i hope wherever you are there’s music bud. rest peacefully, alex. you will never be forgotten. 🕊️

One of my favorite memories with alex is going over there with credence keyes too play guitar for alex and we would sit there and talk music like pink floyd and the grateful dead and play songs and just have a good time. Alex was a great person with a great soul and didn’t deserve one bit of this. Addiction is the devil and long live alex we all miss you kid❤️

Although saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we will ever have to do, love never truly leaves us. The memories we made, the laughter we shared, and the lessons we learned will forever live in our hearts. You may no longer be beside us, but you will always be a part of us. Today, we say goodbye with tears in our eyes, but we will carry your love with us for the rest of our lives. You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.LLA🕊️❤

ALEX IN WONDERLAND

You were smart in a way
that made ordinary conversations
feel like journeys into another world.

You loved philosophy,
big questions,
and complicated words
even some you probably didn’t understand.

You said them anyway,
with confidence,
as if meaning could be found
somewhere inside the sound of them.

You made people think.
You made people laugh.
You made life feel less ordinary.

You were more than how you left this world.
You were every strange thought,
every deep conversation,
every moment that still makes me smile.

Alex in Wonderland,
I hope you knew
how much you mattered.

You were here.
You were loved.
You will not be forgotten.

I hope you’re actually Alex in Wonderland.

Alex was my bestest friend ever he was a very smart and intelligent human being he was so bright and always used big words that nobody really understood but nobody even knew if understood what they meant. He will always be a big part of my life and i’ll never stop talking about him. He was always so smart and he was very fascinated with philosophy . He loved and talked to everybody and he never had a negative thing to say about anybody we will all forever miss him and love him deeply.

Alex was one of the most unique souls I ever had the privilege of calling my friend. I remember the way he look at me and outrageous mannerisms in which he would speak. His intensely vigorous linguistic that seemed to amount to nonsensical rhythms at times. His colorful suits. He was an individual that let the essence of his soul pour out in every action and in every word. I loved him for that. He’d tell me stories about things he’d seen and how he saw the world now, for a brief period I got to exist within his world with him and for that I am forever grateful. I allways told him he reminded me of the mad hatter and even know I can find no way better than to characterize him as that. Alex into wonder land.

my heart goes out to his parents, his sister, and his grandfather. i can’t even begin to imagine the pain of losing someone so young and so loved, and i’m so sorry that you have to go through this. he deserved so much more time with all of you, and i wish more than anything that things could’ve been different. i hope you know that he will never be forgotten and that the love people have for him will always be here. i’m keeping all of you in my thoughts and i’m so sorry for your loss.
alex, i wish i could hear you talk about all the things you loved, listen to music with you, hear you go on about the most random things that nobody else would even think about, and just have more time with you. i keep thinking about how you’re gone and it hurts so fucking much knowing you should still be here. you had so much more life left to live and it kills me knowing you’ll never get to experience all the things you deserved to. you were genuinely so fucking smart , the way your mind worked was so different in the best way possible. you loved learning about things most people wouldn’t even care to look up, you were so interested in understanding how everything worked and how everything connected, and just life in general made you curious and i wish you had more time to learn about all the things you loved. i wish you could’ve had the chance to show the world everything you were capable of because i know there was so much more to you than we ever got to see. i’ll never forget the little things either, like vanilla yogurt being the only thing you would ever eat. and how you hated cheese but you loved cheese pizza, you were so much more than whatever you were going through and you deserved so much better than the life you were given. you were talented, smart, and had such a unique way of looking at the world and honestly i’m so fucking angry. i’m angry at the people who were supposed to care about you and protect you but instead enabled you. the people who were there buying and selling to you, who didn’t seem to care whether you were using or not, and who would get mad at you when you refused. how can you claim to love someone and be part of the reason they keep getting hurt? how can you watch someone struggle and still contribute to the things that are destroying them? you were 16. you were a kid. you needed people who actually cared enough to help you, not people who would rather keep you stuck in something that was hurting you. and now those same people get to be sad that you’re gone when they were some of the first people to enable you instead of helping you. i don’t understand how you can watch someone go through something like that and not care until it’s too late. you deserved people who wanted you alive more than they wanted anything else from you. you deserved people who would’ve done anything to help you instead of making things worse. i can’t stop thinking about everything that happened and how scared you might have been. i hate that my mind keeps going back to that and i hate that i can’t change anything about it. i hate knowing that you were hurting and that i can’t go back and do something differently. i don’t think i’ll ever stop wishing things could’ve gone differently, between us and in your life. i wish i could go back and talk to you one more time. i wish i could’ve made you understand how much you mattered . i hope wherever you are, you’re okay and they’re playing you all your favorite tunes. rest easy🕊️ mkm❤️

My son, Alexander, was a true seeker of knowledge. He thrived mathematically and philosophically, constantly pushing the boundaries of his own understanding. He never settled for simple answers, choosing instead to dive into complex problems with an open and analytical mind. As a family, we challenged him. We taught him about injustices and introduced him to different philosophies and thinkers.

I always told him, "Life is a lot like chess- you can't control your opponent's moves, but you can always choose how you command your own board."
When he was young, he asked me, "Dad, how do people become successful?" I replied, "Dress to impress, smell good, build a strong vocabulary, hold eye contact, and offer a firm handshake and never get complacent." The very next day, he began dressing the way everyone at Hoosick Falls Central School remembers him dressing: incredibly sharp. I'd always joke with him, "Alex, you hijacked my style!" 😂 But to be honest, he took it up a notch and kicked my butt!
And his vocabulary was absolutely out of this world 🌎! He even learned medical lingo so he could communicate directly with doctors about his GABA receptors, neurons, and the neuroplasticity of the mind. He was calculated in conversation and would frequently beffling and impressing doctors with his questions in MD Jargon.

Alex never ceased to amaze us or make us proud. He had a beautiful mind, was a beautiful child, and became such a bright young man.
He is going to be missed beyond words. He was revered member of the Junior Honor Society in 11th grade. He had dreams and aspirations to go to Dartmouth University. I believe he would of been accepted. He could have went to Harvard, Yale or Princeton. He was truly that special, he was my son!
