Obituary

Alex R. Mathews, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, in Danville, California, at the age of 79. Born on August 18, 1945, in Oakland, California, Alex lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and later dedicated his career to serving his community as an Oakland Firefighter and a successful general contractor.

Alex was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the creative outlet of songwriting, collecting classic cars and found immense satisfaction in building custom motorcycles. He was known for his kind and generous heart, his unwavering determination, and his infectious sense of humor.

Alex will be deeply missed by his wife, Trish; his children, Damon, Cameron, Connor, and Casey; his siblings, Isabel and Charlie; his grandchildren, Savannah, Kaden, Kendall, Presley, Ryan and Joshua; and his dogs, Robin, Scout and Creed.

A celebration of life will be held on March 1st at 12:00 PM at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center in Lafayette, California.
