Obituary
Alex Chow-Yin Fung went to be with his Lord Jesus on the 10th of July 2024, at the age of 75. Born to Robert PC Fung and Shiu Hing Ma on 23rd December 1948 in Hong Kong, Alex lived a full and vibrant life, best known for his conviction, resilience, exceptional memory, an unconventional sense of humour, and dedication to his family and work.
After graduating from St Paul's College, Hong Kong in 1967, Alex chased his dream to study Civil Engineering at the University of Lancaster.
In 1973, Alex married Cathy and they shared nearly 51 years of loving marriage. Together, they had three children, Grace, Wien, and Amy, and granddaughter Ai Li. In 1985, Alex was diagnosed with acute kidney failure. After two years of dialysis treatment and waiting for a kidney donor, Cathy donated one of her kidneys to Alex. They became the first successful spousal kidney transplantation in Hong Kong.
Alex loved a good Indian curry, medium rare steak, and black bean sauce ho fun. He loved spending time with his family around the dining table. Alex had a passion for athletics specialising in 100m, 200m and 400m. Since regaining his health and vitality after his kidney transplant in 1987, he was proud to have had participated in seven World Transplant Games. He had a passion for world politics, quantum physics, a wide taste of music, a love for 60s war movies and westerns, and had the uncanny ability to provide a running commentary while watching films or TV.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Alex's extraordinary life at a funeral service on the 2nd of August 2024 at Downs Crematorium Brighton at 4 p.m. followed by a reception. The service will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person. Flowers can be brought with guests on the day, or alternatively these can be delivered to the crematorium on the morning of the funeral service.

馮就賢 Alex 於2024 年7 月10 日安息主懷,享年75 歲。1948年12月23日,馮就賢出生於香港,父母為馮炳照和馬少卿。他的一生充滿豐富多彩,並以堅定信念、堅韌不拔、非凡的記憶力、獨特的幽默感以及對家庭和工作的奉獻精神為特點。
1967年從香港聖保羅書院畢業後,馮就賢追隨夢想前往蘭卡斯特大學修讀土木工程。
1973年,Alex 與 Cathy 結婚,攜手走過將近51年的幸福婚姻。他們育有三個孩子,Grace、Wien 和 Amy,以及孫女艾莉。1985年,Alex 被診斷出急性腎衰竭。在經過兩年的透析治療和等待腎臟捐贈者後,Cathy 捐出了一個腎臟給 Alex。他們成為香港首宗夫妻腎臟移植手術成功個案,經歷神的愛與恩典!
Alex 很喜歡吃印度咖哩,五成熟的牛扒和豉椒炒牛河。他喜歡與家人圍坐在餐桌旁共度時光。Alex對運動充滿熱誠,尤其擅長100米,200米和400米田徑。自1987年腎臟移植手術恢復健康後,他參加了七屆世界器官移植運動會,為此感到十分感恩和自豪。他很關心世界政治,對量子物理有著濃厚興趣,音樂品味廣泛又特別喜愛60年代的戰爭電影和西部片,並且有著在看電影或電視時提供不間斷評論的特殊功能。
