To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.

Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Asher (Adrian), who was born on March 5, 2001 and passed away on July 1, 2026 in Portland, OR.

Asher will be remembered for his strong spirit, beautiful smile, and adventurous love of life. Family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues all experienced the warmth and fun-loving attitude that made time spent with Asher meaningful. Throughout all the trials and challenges life threw at him, he remained irrepressible. He loved animals, and enjoyed caring for others.
Conversations, shared moments, and everyday gestures created memories that will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing Ash.

Asher had a courageous spirit, and has lived all over Oregon, as well as Texas and San Diego. He loved his job at Thriving Lives Care in Portland, and took pride in helping people with developmental disabilities. Asher moved into his adoptive home in 2006, with adoption being finalized in 2009. He reconnected with his birth family as a child, and valued his connections to all sides of his family. As a child he enjoyed participating in the Young Marines, and had stated that going on a cruise and to Disneyland in 2013 was one of his best memories. Asher completed High School in 2018. His charisma and gregariousness touched those who knew him as he explored the world. In February of 2024 Asher had an aortic dissection and a pacemaker placed, which required him to spend a month in the hospital. We are grateful for the extra time we had with Asher after this event.

The passing of Asher leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.

Asher will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

I will always remember Asher’s smile. I got to see it every time I came over for a visit or family time-for someone so small, his big grin when he saw me made me feel like he was genuinely excited to see me. His eagerness to learn and laugh and how silly he could be lit up the room. He was such a sweet soul with a lot of love to give and will be missed very much. The moments we all had with him will get to fondly stay with us forever 💜

This is heartbreaking because your heart wasn’t done loving the world and we were not done loving you. Watch over us all. Love you ASH!

My most prominent memory of Asher was from a time when he was around the age of ten and he was in the bathtub belting an Adele song right out of his lil lungs. We could all clearly hear his beautiful singing far beyond the closed bathroom door.
He loved music and water.
Later that day we sat around the coffee table folding origami cranes of many wonderful colors.
I will never forget this day.
Asher had the most soulful brown eyes and gentle spirit.
May he rest in peace, power, and truth. ❤️

One of my favorite memories of Asher was when he was little, and we drove to the coast. He was so excited he could barely contain himself, and as soon as we stopped driving he bolted from the car and ran straight into the ocean with his jeans on. He was so happy when he was at the ocean, and I will think of him every time I'm there.
