Obituary

With deep sorrow and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Adewale Babalola, who departed this world on 11 January 2026, just days before his 55th birthday. Adewale Babalola was a gift to everyone who knew him, known for his ability to connect meaningfully with people from all walks of life. As the third of five children, Wale learned early the values of family, compassion, and responsibility. He was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, where herreceived his full educational training, from nursery through higher education. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep passion for writing, which led to the publication of several journals and poems, expressing his insight, creativity, and faith.

A devoted Christian and ardent lover of God and people, Wale was committed to God’s work, serving in various capacities throughout his life. He was an ordained minister at Charis Family International Church, where he served diligently at the Charis Bashorun Church in Ibadan, Nigeria, and later at Charis Family International Church in Ashington, United Kingdom, continuing his ministry until his passing.

Wale’s greatest joy was his union with his beloved wife and soulmate, Taiwo Teniola-Babalola, whose steadfast love and support remained a cornerstone of his life. She was the defining blessing of his life and together they built a life that spanned Nigeria and England, where he occupied several professional roles, affecting lives positively in all facets. His life of service, love, and obedience to God remains a lasting testimony and a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

In a short time, Wale touched countless lives and left a legacy of kindness, integrity, and service. He was loved deeply and will be missed beyond words.

Rest peacefully, Wale.

Your memory lives on in our hearts. Amen.

So many questions fill my heart, yet who are we to question God?

Today was meant to be your 55th birthday, but instead, we gather to celebrate a life well spent, as we lay your body to rest. Hmm… So many what ifs in my mind, but God remains unquestionable.

Today at the graveyard, I watched many people cry, not out of obligation, but because of how good you were,

Chelsea fan but your heart was always united connecting families, big supporter of ideas you are always there to listen, your early morning devotion notes touch lives, your quiet strength inspires me a lot sir

Still curious of why ur last 3 notes are about winds and headwinds, Abi....?

Pastor Pathing words at the graveyard was to remind us that its okay to grieve, but not without hope so i'm hoping and pray that God brings comfort to everyone during this time

Thank you for all you did.
Your legacy lives on.

Today I honor a dear brother whose life was a living example of love, kindness, and compassion. He had a rare gift, the ability to truly care for people and their well-being, not just in words, but through consistent action. His concern for others was genuine, selfless, and deeply rooted in who he was.

He carried positivity wherever he went. Even in difficult moments, he chose hope over despair, encouragement over criticism, and light over darkness. His optimism was not naive, it was powerful. It lifted spirits, healed hearts, and reminded everyone around him that better days were always possible. Wale, though you have taken your rest, your spirit lives on in our hearts. Adieu dear brother!!

Words seem inadequate at a time like this. I have tried to put my thoughts on paper, yet they do not flow as naturally as my heart feels.
Brother Wale — as I fondly called you — I remember our days together at Basorun, meeting every morning to pray for the church. Even when you moved to the United Kingdom, your faith and love for God never wavered.

You touched lives in your own unique way. You made sure people were picked up and brought to church; attending was never an excuse for absence when you were around. Your love for people, both young and old, was truly exceptional. The little children knew that visiting Daddy Wale meant receiving a chocolate or sweet. Even when we teased you about spoiling them, they knew your pockets always carried goodies for them.

My dear brother, you have truly made your transition to heaven in grand style. Heaven has gained an angel, while we have lost a beloved brother. Our hearts are heavy because you are no longer with us, yet you will forever remain in our hearts. We love you, but God loves you even more.

Sleep on, dear brother, until we meet again at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ, where we shall part no more.

Dear Min. Wale Babalola,
Today, we honour your life and legacy, with hearts that are heavy, yet grateful. Through the devotionals you wrote, you helped people meet God in ordinary moments. Your words brought Scripture close, made prayer feel possible on hard days, and gave direction to many when they felt stuck or tired. You had a gift for turning truth into something simple, clear, and practical.

What you poured into those daily pages has gone far beyond one local church. Your devotionals have travelled across countries and time zones, reaching members at home and believers scattered around the world. People started their mornings with your words, shared them in family groups, forwarded them to friends, and used them as guides for personal quiet time and group fellowship. In quiet ways and in public ways, God used your service to strengthen consistency in the Word, revive devotion, and build spiritual discipline in many lives.

The church worldwide is better for it, and we remain grateful for the grace God expressed through your life and service. May the Lord comfort us all! May your legacy continually remind us that a faithful life, poured out in service to God and His people, never ends in silence.

Rest On!!

You lived a life of kindness and generosity. You shared freely with others—, Mario - photography - just to bless someone. You gave without expecting anything in return, and that reflected the love of God in you.

Your life was a testimony of what it means to love others as Christ loves us. You were a giving and sharing friend, and your goodness will not be forgotten.

Now you rest in the arms of the Lord, where there is no more pain, only peace and eternal joy.
Rest well, dear friend. Until we meet again

What words could be used to describe our dear Mr
Wale?
He was caring, compassionate and full of Charisma, he was like a bubbling fountain that overflowed without ceasing. Without ceasing he gave from his heart with absolute sincerity,
not just material things but also the irreplaceable and intangible items, such as his time and the knowledge he gained from living this very life.
He is the definition of a man upheld and sustained by the powerful right hand of the Lord.
Though his humble and meek character, his strength could be seen in his unwavering resilience to fulfil his God given purpose...and so he did.
Now he has gone to rest.
A sigh of relief is what I believe the last breath he drew was, but even so now in his deep sleep, his life continues to be a book of encouragement to us that are still running this race.
A powerful reminder to finish the race without regret and ensure that we fulfil the will of our Lord to the uttermost of our ability through the grace of God.

He was never ashamed to share his faith.
Bible study was always livelier and more insightful whenever he was present, because he engaged fully, asked questions, and contributed with depth and conviction.

He was vocal and never shied away from his opinions, even when they were unpopular but honest.
He always wore good, well‑chosen shoes, and his sense of colour and style was unmistakable.
The way he adjusted his glasses had become a signature gesture and something uniquely his.

Children in the church naturally gravitated toward him, they felt safe, seen, and welcomed in his presence.
He was a fighter, strong, courageous, and never showing fear, even in difficult moments.

Bro Wale, thank you for all you do when you were with us here. You have done your bit and gone to be with your Maker. It is now left for us to do our bit before we also go to meet our Maker, where we hope to see you again at His right hand.

Sleep well until the resurrection day.

Your love for God and humanity is deep and strong.

The Bible dictionary you gave me decades ago is still with me with your name boldly written on it 'BERNALD BABALOLA' a gift I will forever cherish.
A cool-headed brother and friend with a fine spirit.
May your gentle soul find eternal rest with the God you served on this side of eternity.
May the entire family be comforted by the Spirit of God.

I say goodbye to a brother and friend.

We say farewell to a beautiful soul whose kindness asked for nothing in return. Selfless, considerate, always putting the needs of others before his, and in doing so made the world brighter and more humane for everyone who knew him. As we bid our final respects, the love he gave so freely remains woven into our hearts, memories, and all the lives he touched.
His spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by him.

Dear Daddy Wale,

It's so sad that the curtains have been drawn. You were a good man, warm at heart, vast in knowledge, and the word of God was your standard. How can we forget the love you poured out on the kids, pampering them and showing up, saying you'd missed them even if we all just left church. Your heart was very large, but not compared to your unwavering faith in God. We miss you so much; even your babies keep asking to see you, but they've never stopped praying for you and Mummy Taiwo. Oh, you loved her loudly and calmly, and we pray for comfort and that God consoles us all. You will always be remembered and loved by Ire

Today, we honor the life of Adewale Babalola, a wonderful younger brother whose devotion to God touched every heart around him. He lived with a rare purity, a steady faith, and a deep commitment to the One he served. His walk with God was evident not only in his words, but in the quiet strength and compassion he carried.

Though his transition into glory leaves us with a profound sense of loss, we take comfort in knowing he now rests in the presence of his Lord—where joy is full and peace has no end. Adewale has finished his race with honor, and heaven has received a faithful son.

To the family, may God’s unfailing comfort surround you. May His peace steady your hearts, and may the beautiful memories of Adewale—his kindness, his laughter, his devotion—bring strength in the days ahead. His life was a blessing, and his legacy will continue to shine.
